It's taking a STUPID AMOUNT OF TIME to make progress towards your vision
5 tips that have helped me cultivate creative courage
Are you feeling stuck in your journey because it's taking a STUPID AMOUNT OF TIME to make progress towards your vision?
Don't worry, it's a common struggle for many ambitious meaning-seekers. Sometimes … no, ALL THE TIME … the path to success requires creative courage and a whole lotta GRIT, baby.
Watch my quick vid about the grit required to see your vision come to life.
… (no, seriously .. like, get it OUT OF YOUR HEAD and into the world):
When you push through disequilibrium - those uncomfortable moments of uncertainty and doubt - you can achieve amazing things and align with your soul’s path.
I’ve heard things like “Kristy, all the things you offer are so viable and beautiful! I don’t know how you do it!”
So here are 5 tips that have helped me cultivate creative courage and stay focused on my goals so you can see your vision come to life!
Embrace the discomfort: Disequilibrium is a normal part of the creative process. Instead of avoiding it, lean into the discomfort and see it as an opportunity to grow and learn. If you’re uncomfortable, you’re breaking through an upper limit. As with meditation, just be a silent observer and watch those self-defeating thoughts pass by. Keep going.
Set realistic goals: Break down your big creative goals into smaller, achievable steps. This can help you build momentum and make progress, even when you're feeling discouraged. I have a list I make every morning titled “What’s important?” And I Name one or two things that would make me feel SO HAPPY if I got them done.
Seek feedback and support: Don't be afraid to ask for feedback or guidance from trusted friends or colleagues. I use this one all.the.fracking.time. Their insights can help you refine your work, learn new tools, and stay motivated. Get resourceful, start seeking resources and support outside of yourself. You don’t have to go it alone. People are going to be thrilled to support and encourage you if you just ask. So get over yourself and reach out.
Practice self-compassion: Remember that creative work is a process, and it's okay to make mistakes or experience setbacks. Be kind to yourself and celebrate your progress along the way. Being a beginner all over again in a new arena is no small thing. You’re not incompetent. You’re not a loser. You’re LEARNING. Stay in playful experiment mode.
Stay true to your vision: Keep your long-term goals in mind and stay focused on your vision. This can help you push through the tough moments and stay motivated to create your best work.
Remember, the path to success is rarely easy, but with a little grit, you can overcome obstacles (note: your biggest obstacle is often yourself) and achieve amazing things. So keep pushing, keep creating, and don’t lose heart!

keke.
